Daily life at Rowan gives all girls the chance to investigate, be challenged, take risks and to be curious about the world around them.
No two days at Rowan are ever the same and the school is always abuzz with activity. We believe that children learn best through first-hand experiences, and we give them plenty of opportunities for learning in an adventurous way.
The warmth that is evident when you walk through the door at Rowan Brae creates the ideal learning environment for girls to fulfil their potential. This is a school where children are nurtured and allowed to grow as individuals. Our inclusive education provides opportunities for all girls to broaden and develop the skills and qualities that underpin longer-term success.
We have excellent Early Years facilities, where girls have access to dedicated outdoor learning spaces, imaginative play areas and our much-loved Glen, a multisensory area including mud kitchen, sand area, dig pit, willow den, story circle and a grassed mound. Girls also have use of the outdoor playground with climbing frames, trikes and larger play equipment, which they share with the older girls.
Our well-equipped, spacious classrooms provide a happy, dedicated environment for your daughter to explore, create, investigate. All classrooms have easy access to the outdoor learning areas and the girls benefit from regular Forest School sessions at our Forest School site on Telegraph Hill – a beautiful outdoor environment where they regularly explore and engage in nature walks and practical learning activities.
We now offer the Universal 15 hours Early Years Free Entitlement (EYFE) for eligible pupils in our Preschool and Reception years. Please click here for more information.
