Year 1 Embrace Victorian School Life at Guildford Museum

Year 1 had a wonderful day at Guildford Museum.  The girls arrived at school dressed in their Victorian costumes and were met at the museum by Miss Smith and Miss Emily, who invited them into their authentic Victorian playroom.  Year 1 had fun investigating Victorian toys and were taken upstairs to the Victorian schoolroom where they sat in rows at wooden desks and learned to use an inkwell and pen.  Miss Smith could not believe how well behaved the girls were and Miss Emily complimented the girls on their handwriting skills and she had never met such young girls using ink pens so proficiently.   One of the highlights of the day was eating their delicious, Victorian packed lunches that had been thoughtfully prepared by their parents.
