Aladdin Comes To Rowan

We might not have been able to enjoy our annual trip to the pantomime, so instead we brought the fun of the pantomime to Rowan!  The girls took part in their own Aladdin workshop, bringing the story alive through interpretative dance and drama.

Throughout the week, each year group had the afternoon to explore the characters of Princess Jasmine, the Genie and of course our hero, Aladdin and his magic carpet. ‘West End in Schools’ ran the workshops for us and took the girls on a magical journey through the streets of Old Peking, where the girls recreated a busy market scene with royalty, police and tourists, only to be interrupted by the crazy Silly Billy. The girls enjoyed finding ways of playing the part of Abanazar, and learned so much about mime, movement and the skill of maintaining focus throughout their performances.
